Living into Surrendering: Listen
Living Into Surrendering: Day 15, Listen
I have decided to live into surrender more consciously for 21 days, and share the journey with others. I invite you to join me, for the benefit of your own peace, and the peace of those around you.
I am so full of resistance! How do I even turn towards surrender? What do we do when a storm of emotions come crashing down on us?
I know that the only way is to allow myself to pass through this storm. I must acknowledge, express, and listen to my feelings. Right now, I am still coming to terms with work issues, feeling both angry and sad. I feel lonely at my new work site, which I wasn’t expecting.
This anger is a messenger for me, if I use it well. This sadness can deepen intimacy and tenderness in my heart, if I use them well.
I really like these sayings by Buddhist Monk, Thich Nhat Hanh, from his book Taming The Tiger Within.
***
“When we embrace anger and take good care of
our anger, we obtain relief. We can look deeply into
it and gain many insights…”
***
“Just because anger is present does not
mean that the capacity to love and accept
is not there; love is always with you.”
The call is to Listen, and to not separate ourselves from Love, from God, and our deepest self.
While praying today, I had a release from some of the anger, as the passage, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s,” came to me. I realized that is what I must do: stop the fight inside myself. And surrender into my work situation, with trust in my power to transform, create, and be at peace.
Can you surrender into listening to how you are feeling right now? And see where it takes you.
