Gratitude
Gratitude
More and more, I notice I am pausing throughout the day, and taking a moment to be grateful.
= When I awake in the morning, I pause in gratitude for the gift of a new day.
= Before I eat, I stop for a moment, and take a breath, and am grateful for the food.
= As I sip my afternoon peppermint tea, I am grateful for the work I have been able to do during the day, and the warmth and comfort this simple cup of tea offers me.
= After swimming, while I am dressing in the locker room, I quietly express my gratitude for the time and health to exercise.
= I pause before dinner, in gratitude for being home with my family and for the bounty of the meal.
= And as I drift off to sleep, I whisper a prayer of gratitude for the day of life.
As I write this, I realize how abundant every day is with moments to pause, and express and feel gratitude. I have found that gratitude multiplies, and the more I water the seeds of gratitude, the more gratitude grows in my life. I have discovered that by filling in the pauses between the moments of my day with gratitude, I am nurturing a source of comfort in my life.
