Living into Surrendering: Be Gentle
Living Into Surrendering: Day 7
I have decided to live into surrender more consciously for 21 days, and share the journey with others. I invite you to join me, for the benefit of your own peace of mind, and the peace of those around you.
For today’s offering, I would like to share some prayers and mediations. I am needing to be very gentle with myself today. Perhaps you are, too.
During the night, I had a deep sense of absorbing Divine love, while I rested for hours, not able to completely surrender to sleep. I am feeling tender, so I bring these prayers to you from my heart, as you surrender into how you are feeling right now, physically and emotionally.
Effortlessly
Effortlessly,
love flows from God to man,
like a bird who rivers the air
without moving her wings,
Thus we move in his world
one in body and soul,
though outwardly separate in form.
As the source strikes the note,
humanity sings—
The Holy Spirit iso our harpist,
and all strings which are touched in love
must sound.
—Mechthilda of Magdeburg (1210-1297)

A Prayer of Abandonment (2nd verse)
….Into your hands I commend my soul;
I offer it to you with all the love of my heart,
for I love you, and so need to give myself,
to surrender myself into your hands
without reserve and with boundless confidence,
for you are my God.
—Charles de Foucauld (1858-1916)***
And if you are like me today, and need tenderness, I offer you my own prayer.
