Love Note #4: Love & Participation

Love depends on participation.

We have to stay in our relationship to and with the Divine, with ourselves, and with each other to awaken to the intimacy and love they long to offer us.

We can’t stand outside of Love, we must live in relationship to it, just as we can’t be married without being in the marriage, we can’t be a friend without being in the friendship, we can’t swim without being in the water.

For we can’t love from the sidelines, and we can’t trust from the outside looking in. We’re called to live inside this love relationship with the One who loves us into being at every moment. We’re called to trust in the deeper places within, and step into trust more fully.

We do this by staying open, continually surrendering to love, and allowing love to grow in us with grace. The more we give ourselves over to Love, the more intimacy, connection, and healing we discover.
