Reassurance

As a human being, I need reassurance. I need to be reminded that love and beauty are stronger than fear and doubt. I have been reading lots of holiday stories to the children in the library, and I am noticing that many of the stories are about bringing light and love into the world. They are about reaching into ourselves and finding peace and hope, and then reaching out to others with more caring. They are ultimately about reaching beyond the darkness into a brighter light.

Lately, I have been lighting more candles. By the time I get home at the end of the day, it’s dark, and I find myself lighting small votive candles around the house. The candlelight adds a comforting light around me. The candlelight reminds me of the light of love shining in my heart.

Comfort offers us reassurance.

  • Light a candle
  • Take a warm bath
  • Laugh with a friend
  • Enjoy a bowl of steaming soup
  • Feel good in your robe and pajamas

Comfort is full of the gifts of sharing and caring.
