Patience
Practicing patience towards myself changes the tone of a day. When I am patient, I am calmer, and my body and mind feel better. Yet, impatience surges through me at every corner, and it takes my mindful awareness to keep returning to the practice of patience throughout the day.
Lately, I have been feeling too much pressure, both inside and outside of myself. I am busy with work, and with attending courses for my library credential, and it seems as though I am always chasing time. Can I be patient with this time in my life? I feel so disconnected from myself. Between work and homework, I am giving all my time away. I made a few commitments to myself, or should I say, they organically emerged over the last few weeks. I have decided to:
- let myself have my feelings, the whole range of them
- not run from myself, and
- believe in the power of a new day !
Once again, I feel the calling in myself for comfort — to be compassionate, kind and patience with myself. Patience is a gift of comfort.
